GNU Free Documentation License Did the Japanese/Chinese really use morse code during the last war? Q. I have recently seen 2 old "war movies" in which the Japanese and Chinese were clearly seen/heard using morse code. Is this historically correct and if so how do you translate, what I understand to be ideomatic type languages, a series of pictures, into something that can be sent as a series of dots and dashes? Extending this question further. Just how do Japanese/Chinese typewriters/computer keyboards work if they have no letters to work with? Asked by The stitched-up teddy bear - Sat Mar 21 15:56:37 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. Japanese does have letters in a phonetic alphabet, actually two alphabets. The 48 sounds in that alphabet have a morse code. I didn't know there was a Japanese morse code till I did a web search to answer your question. Here's a link I found: For Chinese, apparently the system is to use a codebook where 10,000 ideograms are arranged in a codebook and assigned numbers, then you transmit the numbers in ordinary Morse code. I don't know anything about typewriters in either language. The Japanese phonetic alphabets would be very straightforward. I just checked by putting my Mac into international mode and seeing what it did with the Japanese alphabet. It offers me a palette with buttons for each letter rather than mapping it to the… [cont.] Answered by Randy P - Sat Mar 21 18:20:50 2009 Is it true that Japanese men are intimidated by white western women? Q. I always hear from western women in Japan and even read in articles in Japanese magazines that Japanese men rarely show interest in white women because they believe they'll be rejected. One Japanese magazine article (that I found offensive) said that Japanese men see Japanese women as their equal, white women as their superior and black women as below them. But is it true that when Japanese men see the stereotypical American woman (ie tall, big breasts, blue eyes, blond hair) that they think they will be turned down is they show interest? Please post. Thanks. Asked by I am your amigo - Tue Oct 7 12:37:57 2008 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments A. I have dated several Japanese men, not Japanese-American, but born and raised in Japan. I'm blonde haired, blue eyed, and I guess you can say I have large breasts depending on what is considered large. None of them have been "intimidated" because they approached me. I'm married to a Japanese person. Answered by Boli Loquita - Tue Oct 7 14:02:08 2008 Where can i learn japanese online for free?
Q. I've looked every where, but the only places I've found need a membership and a monthly payment. I would like a website were I can learn japanese for free. I don't need to know how to write it(although that would be great) I just want to learn the language. I'm okay with memberships, but not with downloading anything. I would like a site that you have used before and would recommend to me. I really enjoy the japanese language and culture. I know a few phrases and would like to learn the whole language.
