Graphics (from Greek γραφικός graphia) are visual presentations on some surface, such as a wall, canvas, computer screen, paper, or stone to brand, inform, illustrate, or entertain. Examples are photographs, drawings, Line Art, graphs, diagrams, typography, numbers, symbols, geometric designs, maps, engineering drawings, or other images. Graphics often combine text, illustration, and color. Graphic design may consist of the deliberate selection, creation, or arrangement of typography alone, as in a brochure, flier, poster, web site, or book without any other element. Clarity or effective communication may be the objective, association with other cultural elements may be sought, or merely, the creation of a distinctive style. Graphics can be functional or artistic. The latter can be a recorded version, such as a photograph, or an interpretation by a scientist to highlight essential features, or an artist, in which case the distinction with imaginary graphics may become blurred. Q. I keep hearing two things: 1.) Graphics cards are the most important thing in a PC for gaming and graphics. 2.) Graphics cards are not the most important thing; it's all how the developers make the game, and the graphics card is just how the graphics are processed. Which of these statements is true? Asked by Ryan - Tue Nov 24 18:47:38 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. In short, neither. The graphics card is the component that renders the image and puts it onscreen. So it would be reasonable to say that a graphics card is a key component in the gaming performance of your PC. But it will not be a useful component if not backed up by the RAM and CPU. Therefore, the most important thing for PC gaming is everything. Answered by Jamets - Tue Nov 24 18:54:31 2009 How do I know if a graphics card will work for my computer? Q. I am planning on getting a new graphics card for my computer, but I am not sure if the graphics card will fit. I am planning on getting a Geforce 9400. The computer model is a Gateway 838GM. My current graphics card is a intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL express chipset family. Any help is appreciated. Asked by Edmond - Wed Jun 17 13:24:20 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. It looks like you will be fine installing this particular graphics card. The slot type your computer has is compatible with it. Just make sure before installing it that you have a power supply that has at least 300watts (You check this by looking at the side of the power supply when you open the case). Also, if it does not have a fan on the rear vent, you should add one because an external card like the one you want to add could generate more heat. Enjoy! =) Answered by DB - Thu Jun 18 11:13:22 2009 How can i obtain graphics for a lot of Excel files?
