Quilt art, sometimes known as art quilting, is an art form that uses traditional quilting techniques to create art objects. Practitioners of quilt art create it based on their experiences, imagery, and ideas rather than traditional patterns. You want to create a mock chenille effect, which you can do by sewing strips or shapes of fabric onto your pants, then roughing up the edges. It would probably be easiest to create the chenille first, then sew it to your pants. Layer at least 3 layers of various shades of green fabric. I'd recommend flannel, for the fray factor, and make sure it's green on both sides (or at least not too white on the back). Sew diagonal (diagonal is important for fraying) parallel lines 1/2" apart, joining all of the layers together. Cut through the top layers - do NOT cut the bottom layer! Use a stiff bristle brush to fray and fluff up the edges. When it looks like you want it to, cut out your shapes and sew it to your pants. Q. Can you tell me the artist or name of this Art Nouveau picture? Link - Forgive the very poor photograph.. the image is on my Art Nouveau themed quilt cover and I'm desperately trying to find a copy of the image on the internet somewhere. Can anyone give me the name or title of it? The text along the side reads "Diorama Animado" but google searches of that have produced nothing...
