What does your crazy quilt of your life look like?
Q. A crazy quilt of my life would be wonderful for me to see No one else would have it, unique, one of a kind, Me The size would be queen and heavy to keep you warm, To wrap tight yourself in during a nasty storm. I would divide it up in sections, each a special place. Some would be tattered, some delicate Irish lace. The colours would go from dreary gray to bright sunshiny yellow There would be hues of all the blues, pinks some sharp, some mellow. Passionate reds throughout it all, forest greens everywhere you look.. Areas would be black and white like the pages of my favourite book. Crazy, unique,over-stated it would definitely be After all, my crazy quilt is suppose to depict me. Appreciate the input.I don't know how to go back and edit it. [cont.]

A. Some great images and your first two lines...extremely strong. You change tense in the third? This has much merit but to me it needs some more editing to make it "real crazy." Examples: Some would be tattered...others Irish lace Colours from grayest gray to brightest yellow Blues in all hues. Pinks...soft to bold As to my quilt... quite ordinary. I am trying to add some color though! Get back to work now and make this one really bounce!

what is the difference between a contemporary and traditional quilt?
Q. My wedding is coming up and there are some ladies that want to make a quilt for us. They want to know if I want a "contemporary" or "old-fashioned" quilt. I think I would be in the middle...I don't want it to be crazy, but not old-granny either... But my question is, what is a contemporary quilt? I don't think I've ever seen one or know what that is. Pictures would be very helpful too. Thanks!

A. Here's a website that should actually address the issue. I think the big difference is in contemporary quilts, it's not the traditional pieced top with certain blocks (patterns), with a muslin backing, made with cotton fabrics. Contemporary quilts can be one giant picture, can be abstract, and can be made with any fabric.

Looking for Members of "Pass Around Quilters" Round Robin Quilt Project Yahoo Group - Late 90's, early 2000's
Q. Several years ago I belonged to a Yahoo group that was called "PAQ" (I think). This stood for "Pass Around Quilters" and we completed quilt tops in a Round Robin fashion. I am actually starting to quilt my wonderful top today and it has got me wondering about the women that worked on my quilt top. There was my dear friend Carolyn Dilday whom I lost contact with, a sweet girl named Rita, a Leslie, and others. There was a homespun plaid top that I worked on, one that I appliqued leaves, acorns, and squirrels on, and a gorgeous batik top. While a member of this group I also participated in a crazy quilt block PAQ and hosted a miniature PAQ. My large PAQ started with an appliqued fairy in the center and these women added some of the most… [cont.]
