Cross-stitch is a popular form of counted-thread embroidery in which X-shaped stitches are used to form a picture. Cross-stitch is usually executed on easily countable evenweave fabric called aida cloth. The stitcher counts the threads in each direction so that the stitches are of uniform size and appearance. This form of cross-stitch is also called counted cross-stitch in order to distinguish it from other forms of cross-stitch. Sometimes cross-stitch is done on designs printed on the fabric (stamped cross-stitch); the stitcher simply stitches over the printed pattern. From Wikipedia under the

It does take a little sifting through though, and if you dont find what you want, or the character you need, you can go to one of the sites that transfers pics into cross stitch patterns for free, and supply them with a pic or jpeg of what you want. If you really like the 2nd option, search for "pictures into cross stitch charts free downloads" to find one of the several free software programs for your own computer and then can do what you want, when you want. Q. I'm looking for cross stitch patterns to sew onto my son's onesies. My sister suggested Nightmare Before Christmas and I loved the idea! The only problem is, I can't find any patterns from the movie. I don't have the money to buy a photo converter. Does anyone know where I might find some?
