Common instruments include graphite pencils, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils, crayons, charcoals, chalk, pastels, markers, stylus, or various metals like silverpoint. An artist who practices or works in drawing may be referred to as a draftsman or draughtsman. A small amount of material is released onto the two dimensional medium which leaves a visible mark—the process is similar to that of painting. The most common support for drawing is paper, although other materials such as cardboard, plastic, leather, canvas and board, may be used. Temporary drawings may be made on a blackboard or whiteboard, or indeed almost anything. Q. I am planning to still color with crayons or watercolor, my drawing before scanning it. I have to print the drawings for my project. I'm thinking it it's actually possible to color the drawings in the computer. Lol. So I can save time, energy and crayons. If it's possible, how? I only have Adobe photoshop CS3 and Paint I think. Asked by jk_villadiego - Sun Mar 9 13:26:28 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. I do it all the time. I, sometimes create an ink drawing on paper, scan it in and then color and finish it in Photoshop. In fact, before I got my first version of Photoshop, I used to do this with the Microsoft Paint that came installed with every PC. The only difference is that Photoshop has a LOT more options. The computer is, merely, another tool in the artist's hands. It does not make a better artist, but it saves a lot of time. By the way, I still have a big box of crayons in my studio. There are SOME crayon effects that I still cannot do in Photoshop.
