Martial arts and the fast twitch fibers?
Q. how does a martial artist work his fast twitch fibers for speed without bulking up in techniques, weights, acrobats, etc.

A. Generally by doing sport specific exercises, pad drills, etc. Any plyometric or body weight exercise done with an emphasis on speed definately helps. Additionally to build explosive power and fast twitch muscle, I reccomend Circuit training with Olympic style lifts. Olympic style lifts are meant as one fluid explosive motion, things such as Benchpress, Cleans, Power Cleans, Squats, etc. By doing relatively low weight, and in a continous circuit while concentrating on exploding, you can gain speed and power through proper weight training. Also high intensity plyometric circuits using exercises like jumping squats and lunges, clapping push ups, star mans, and the like will also help build explosive fast twitch muscle, and help greatly… [cont.]

Painting living room, have black Micro-Fiber Set, confused as to what color will give it some life.?

A. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours: I think "bamboo shoot" (# 7733) might look sharp with the black. You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website: You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
