Quilting is a sewing method done to join two or more layers of material together to make a thicker padded material. A quilter is the name given to someone who works at quilting. Quilting can be done by hand, by sewing machine, or by a specialist longarm quilting system. The process of quilting uses a needle and thread to join two or more layers of material together to make a quilt. Typical quilting is done with three layers: the top fabric or quilt top, batting or insulating material and backing material. The quilter's hand or sewing machine passes the needle and thread through all layers and then brings the needle back up. The process is repeated across the entire piece where quilting is wanted. A rocking, straight or running stitch is commonly used and these stitches can be purely functional or decorative and elaborate. Quilting is done to create bed spreads, art quilt wall hangings, clothing, and a variety of textile products. Quilting can make a project thick, or with dense quilting, can raise one area so that another stands out. HistoryFrom Wikipedia under the

Does anyone know of a place to purchase zippered leaders for the LittleGracie II quilting frame? The Grace company does not know of any place to buy them. I would rather purchase than try to make them, since my sewing skills are being learned as I go, and these should be precise. Thank you. Asked by karen - Tue Jun 10 09:47:17 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. If the Little Gracie company doesn't know about them, then they probably don't have any that are made for them. I wonder if the Gammill zippered leaders would work. How long is your Little Gracie frame? Gammill leaders fit 12' and 14' frames. You might also check with some of the other companies, like A-1, Nolting, or APQS, etc. Good luck. I think it was episode 613 (see the first link below), and Andrea Poulimenos demonstrated it. She works for EQ5. I have EQ5, and I know you can import photos. They have a book on using photos in EQ5 (third link). Also, there's a program called Kaleidoscope Kreator that can be used with fabric for quilting (last link).
