Survival skills are techniques a person may use in a dangerous situation (e.g. natural disasters) to save themselves or to save others .(also see bushcraft). Generally speaking, these techniques are meant to provide the basic necessities for human life: water, food, shelter, habitat, and the need to think straight, to signal for help, to navigate safely, to avoid unpleasant interactions with animals and plants, and for first aid. In addition, survival skills are often basic ideas and abilities that ancient humans had to use for thousands of years, so these skills are partially a reenactment of history. Many of these skills are the ways to enjoy extended periods of time in remote places, or a way to thrive in nature. Some people use these skills to better appreciate nature and for recreation, not just survival.

So, we've hit the point in WoW's expansion cycle where people tend to get bored, have RL issues pop up, or otherwise get tired of their current guild's progress.

A. Hi honey...this is such a hard thing to go through...I know! I've been there! I lost a twin when I was around 5-6 weeks pregnant, however I went on to have a very healthy pregnancy and now have a beautiful 3 1/2 year old daughter. This is sometimes called "vanishing twin syndrome" and refers to the loss of a twin. Chances are pretty good that her second baby will stay put though. This occurs in about 1 out of every 8 pregnancies!! Most women just do not know they have miscarried. I wouldn't have known that I did if not for my ultrasound showing up traces of my second baby being there and the nurse telling me later on (no, they didn't tell me when I had the ultrasound...just said that "Something was there, but now it's not." How sensitive… [cont.]

What are the chances of a 1 pound 3 ounce baby surviving?
Q. My friend went into premature labor and had a baby girl that weighed 1 pound and 3 ounces. What is the possibility of the baby girl surviving?

A. There is a decent chance but she will spend a long time in the hospital and it will be a bumpy road for them all. She will have her good days and bad days but the chances of survival are very good. I'm sorry for your friend and I hope it all works out.

What chance does a fish that swallows the hook have of surviving?
Q. If a fish swallows the hook and as soon as I real him up he starts bleeding then I cut the line, does he have any chance of surviving. I heard the hook will disolve in his stomach

A. Yep, you heard right. If you want to release the fish with a deep swallowed hook, cut the line as close to the hook as you can and hope for the best. The fish may not survive, but ordinary wire hooks will dissolve and/or fall out with time. I don't know that anyone can say what the actual chance of survival is -- there are so many variables. Obviously the fish is going to be much better off with no hook in him, but I'd say, all other things being equal (you don't manhandle the fish, squish him, injure the gills, etc.), a fish with a hook in the throat has to have at least a 50-50 chance of pulling through. There are some new "technologies" out there that make removing hooks easier and they make hook removal easier on the fish. Even the… [cont.]
